making the wooden panels for the walls(2)

Building the Wooden Flats

In order to build the set we need to make wooden flats that will work as the walls of the scenery. The wood that we are going to use must be light and easy.

We are going to build a 8x4 foot flat. That requires to have two 8 foot timbers for the sides and five timbers, which go in the middle to make the flat stronger and more stable.

Using a square we are sure about the angle of the corners.
hen we screw all the pieces together. On top of the wooden frame we apply some PVA, to stick better, and we place the wooden surface.
We use the nail gun to nail it. We always have to start from the one corner going to the other. Nails must have a 4 inches space between them.

In the end we put some more nails using a hammer to make it more stable.
If there are any parts of the wooden surface to the sides we cut them off using the Palm Router.
