Gregor’s Room – The Walls

Our aim was to make the base of the wall look old. Αs the walls were black, dirty, and full of mold.
To get started we picked colours that remind it us of all that.
Dark brown, black, yellow, green.
We began to paint using black and brown and then add and green. We were wondering what would give us the effect the mould and we thought that it would be interesting to use shoda ash from the woods.

We throw big pieces of paint on the wall and on top of it some dust. And splashed a little bit of yellow and green to the rest of them.

Then we left it to dry, and then applied a layer of paste, so that the next day we would be able to put the wallpaper.

The next day when one of the tutors saw the walls he told us that we would not be able to put the wallpaper, because there was too much dust and the paste would not work.

So we cleaned all the surfaces, taking as much dust as we could out. Then we took off some of the big pieces of colour and we mostly left the ones you wanted to be sawn even with the wallpaper.

Then we put up the wallpaper the same way we did in the living room.

The next step was to tear apart the wallpaper and make it look old and disgusting.

As last details in the parts that there was not anymore wallpaper we used paper with paint.
We mixed brown color, PVA tissue paper and we placed it there as it was mould that came out of the wall.
